Special Processor developed by Google to Power its AI bots

Over the past few years, Google had been quietly developing its own custom processor to power its AI bots. Its called Tensor Processing Unit(TPU) as it's built expressly for running TensorFlow. For those who don't know about TensorFlow, its Google's in-house machine learning system that was open sourced last year.

Machine Learning may have huge effects in our life. It helps computers to understand complex voice commands, recognize images, predict our next action on the basis of previous actions and much more. Talking about Google, It stands on the top in Machine Learning technology. More than 100 of its products and features uses Machine Learning to run and improve themselves over passes of time.

Google says that it's been able to run more operations per second into silicon with its TPU. They also noted that they had been using their TPUs in its data centers for more than a year and the performance improvements they offer are roughly equivalent to fast-forwarding technology about seven years into the future, if we go by Moore's Law.

Google's TPUs could be a very important part of its forthcoming technologies and services as AI and Machine Learning. It may deliver the level of performance that would allow its AI like AlphaGo to defeat world Champion in a Go tournament which it did earlier this year. Here are the details of the match.
