Vortex 250: The Lamborghini of Racing Drones

Labeled for "the experienced pilot", Horizon Hobby's Vortex 250 is a racing drone that weights a little over a pound, has four custom 2300kv brushless motors and can fly at a maximum speed of 60 mph. It has 2mm thick top and bottom plate both made of carbon fiber and 4mm thick carbon fiber motor arms.

This drone has super sensitivity that allows it to rapidly change the direction. This ability makes it different from a multi-purpose quadcopter.

Besides, it has a integrated FatShark FPV flight cam which can transmit live to any 5.8 GHz headset and a secondary video camera.

The drone also comes preloaded with different software tuning configurations so you can maximize it's performance. This one is the main difference between Vortex and ready-to-fly drones like Phantom. You have to do fine tuning before taking any moves.

With all the great feature, this drone worth $499 in which you'll need to buy separate controller of your choice, battery, charger and FPV goggles. You can get it here.

But there is a catch, if you are looking for a drone that captures 4k videos, automatically avoid trees and just to impress your friends, Vortex is probably not the best choice for you. But you are involved in or trying to be involved in drone racing then you should definitely check out the Vortex.
